Kee Widows – An overview of the key widows programmes
In contrast to previous years, many children across Kenya can attend and complete primary school which is a brilliant improvement. However, there is still a lot of work to do to ensure every child has access to primary education and that they are able to proceed with their secondary education.
Help an orphan in Kenya with the Kee Widows Education Programme
Although access to primary education has improved throughout Kenya, the vast majority of children are still unable to enrol in secondary school. The financial strain faced by widows and families which are supporting orphans, often means that children are unable to reach their full potential. This has a huge impact on both the future of the children and the community as a whole.
When you donate to our Kee Widows education programme, the funds are used to cover 100% of student’s tuition fees. We understand that there are more costs associated with attending school, so your sponsorship will also cover the cost of schoolbooks, meals, uniform, and boarding.
To be able to attend secondary school through the Kee Widows Programme, students must achieve a minimum grade of 350 within the standard eight final examination. The student must also have an admission offer from a recognised school in Kenya. We assess every application to ensure the potential students are either orphaned or unable to pay the fees charged.
How to donate to orphans in Kenya
Our aim is to help every child who reaches out to us, but to do this we need your help and support. Whether you are an individual, a business, or an organisation looking to make a difference, the funds you donate will be used to help every child achieve a brighter future.
If you want to help young children and orphans in Kenya access the education they deserve, making a donation to our charity is quick and easy. It costs just £79 per month to sponsor a child or help an orphan in Kenya, and your donation will provide them with food, clothing, and a primary school education.
In return, you will receive a photograph and letter from your sponsored child in Kenya every year and you will also receive information about your child’s progress in school and their daily lives.

Empower widows in Kenya with our Kee Widows Empowerment Programmes
Within the communities we work with, our Kee Widows Programme is one of the only solutions available to widows. We run regular programmes to defend and support widows and their children. The programmes are focused on training women so that they can earn a living for their famiies. From training on farm managements and small business management, to tailoring and knitting. We help widows develop their skills. We also provide the necessary farm equipment such as farm machinery and sewing machines.
Above all, our programmes are designed to support and empower women in their endeavours, so that they can retain their husband’s estates and continue to provide for their families.
